Ethiopia Guji Uraga Gr1 Washed
Tastes Like: Orange Nectarine Pineapple
The Guji district, of the province of Sidamo, lies in the mountainous zone of South Central Ethiopia, perfectly positioned for agricultural production thanks to its high altitudes and rainfall. Only ripe cherries are picked and delivered to a nearby wet mill where they are carefully sorted and pulped, before fermentation of 36-48 hours depending on climate. It is then washed and graded before being dried in the African sun on raised beds for twelve to fifteen days, until an ideal moisture level has been reached. During this time the coffee is regularly raked and turned, as well as being covered during the peak heat of the day, to ensure consistent drying. Once this processing is completed the coffee is transported to Addis Ababa for milling, grading and sorting.
Expect crisp orange and nectarine acidity carried by a full body, and lingering chocolate and pineapple notes.
Available for either espresso or filter coffee brewing.
